Sharon Horvath Obituary

Sharon Lee Horvath (Kovatch), Age 73, of Point Pleasant Beach NJ, (formerly of East Brunswick NJ), passed away on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021.

Sharon was born on June 13th, 1947 in Perth Amboy NJ, the daughter of the late Robert James Kovatch Sr. and Eleanor Kovatch.

She grew up in Edison NJ and was a graduate of Edison High School in 1965.  She married her high school sweetheart, Michael J Horvath Jr of Highland Park NJ on August 6th, 1965. 

Sharon worked for over 20 years in Customer Service and was recently retired.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling and vacationing at their 2nd home in Point Pleasant Beach NJ.

Sharon is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Michael Jr, her father, Robert, and her sister Christine Altman.  She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Ehrhardt and husband Michael, Tracy Horvath, Shannon Garrity and husband William, and Danielle Horvath.

She is also survived by her mother Eleanor Kovatch, her brother Robert James Kovatch Jr and wife Stephanie, niece Nicole Kovatch, her partner Jason and great-niece Brielle, her nephew Robert James Kovatch III and great-nephew Justin.

She was an animal lover and the proud Grandma of Shortcake the cat and Darcey the Dog.

Due to the current health crisis, a private service is being held for immediate family at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home in Milltown, NJ with a funeral service at St. Paul’s Church also in Milltown.  Her final resting place is Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery in North Brunswick, NJ. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the Horvath Memorial Baseball/Softball Scholarship established at Highland Park High School.
