Robin P. (Pearce) Ramey

Robin P. Ramey of East Brunswick, NJ passed away on June 14, 2021, peacefully at her home.  
She was 69 years old.  Born in New Brunswick, she grew up in East Brunswick and from an early 
age her knew she wanted to be a teacher. After graduation from East Brunswick High School, 
she attended Hope College in Holland, MI where she majored in Education.  She first taught in 
Fremont, MI, and it was there she met and married her first husband Dan Ramey with whom 
she had two children.  She returned to graduate school at Southern Connecticut University 
completing her Master’s Degree in Education. She taught in East Haven, CT and enjoyed her 
work as docent at the Yale Museum. When her son was born, she had the opportunity to be a 
stay at home mom and always treasured those years. Following her divorce, she returned to 
East Brunswick in 1986 and taught in the South Brunswick School District as a reading specialist 
from 1987-2012. She married her beloved husband David Carotenuto in 1993.  Robin was also 
an adjunct professor of English at DeVry Institute from 2006-2016.  Robin was a devoted 
member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and with her husband was a member of the 
church’s Praise band, Music and Theater Programs, a youth leader and member of prayer and 
study groups; as well as a volunteer for Aldersgate Outreach Community Center, carrying on a 
proud tradition left by her father, and mother. As a member of Faith Factor, she relished her 
time playing the electric guitar, singing and cowriting songs with her husband. 
In addition, she was a board member of Young Vision Africa, which provides educational, 
religious, and agricultural needs for the small village Blama Peri, Sierra Leone, through which 
she achieved one of her lifelong dreams of a mission trip to the village; with plans to return. 
However, Robin put the best of her considerable energy into her family, first as a mother and 
again as she took on the cherished role of Gigi (grandma) playing, nurturing, and caring for the 
next generation. 
Predeceased by her parents Edgar and Evelyn Pearce, Robin is survived by her beloved husband 
David Carotenuto, daughter Jessica Nahay and her husband Steve, son Daniel Ramey and his 
wife Amanda, daughter Liz Ramey and her wife Tory; grandchildren: Jaxson, Chase, and 
Beckham Nahay, and Pearce Ramey; brother Edgar A. Pearce and his wife Diana; and many 
cousins, nieces, and nephews. 
Family and friends are welcome to the viewing Thursday 4-8pm at the Bronson and Guthlein 
Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ.  The funeral service will be celebrated Friday, 10am at Aldersgate 
United Methodist Church 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.  Guests are asked to meet directly at the church on Friday.
