Paul James Rectenwald

Paul James Rectenwald , age 63, died Thursday January 30, 2020 in his home following a brief illness. 
He leaves behind his mother Ann Rectenwald , his sister Rachel Collier, nephew Will Collier, niece 
Maddie Collier, and great nephews Rickie and Charlie. He also leaves his sister Diann Longstreet, nieces 
Jessica Fuller and Kate Farrar, great nieces Leah, Hailey, Lucy, and Emmy​
 
Paul was born and raised in Edison, the son of Ann and Michael Rectenwald. He was a lifelong resident of 
Edison township. He was pre-deceased by his brother Bill and his father Michael Rectenwald. He worked 
as a mechanic at Frosty’s Air Sunoco in Miltown and was a caregiver to his father , brother, and mother 
throughout his life.  
 
Paul loved animals, gardening, fishing,. and nature. His two dogs Marshie and Motley, had a special place 
in his heart. He was a helpful and caring neighbor, who went out of his way to mow lawns and snow 
blow their driveways for those who needed it. Paul was a devoted brother and son, caring for the people 
he loved as they neared the end of their lives.  
 
Memorial services will be held in the spring.  Spring was Paul’s favorite time of year, when all the flowers 
and plants bloomed.  We will be planting a garden in his memory at a memorial service at home.
