Patricia Elaine (Horvath) Malyk

Patricia Elaine Malyk (nee Horvath), 80, originally of Milltown, NJ, passed away on January 17, 2023, surrounded by her husband and sons, in Wilmington, NC, where she resided with her husband for the last 23 years in retirement.  She was a devoted communicant and eucharistic minister at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington.  Prior to moving to Wilmington, she was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, raising her 3 sons in Pennington, NJ.

 Patricia is predeceased by her mother Margaret Horvath (nee Wolfe) and father Francis Horvath of Milltown, NJ.  Patricia was a devoted mother and is survived by her husband, Dr. Bohdan Malyk, her son Brendan Malyk and her daughter in law, Bonnie Malyk, of Havelock, NC, her son Dr. Tim Malyk of Skowhegan, ME, her son Scott Malyk and her daughter in law Jaclyn Malyk of Chester Township, NJ, and her brother and sister in law Arnold & Bernice Horvath of Toms River, NJ, along with 6 grandchildren:  Cameron Malyk (Havelock, NC), Logan Malyk (Savanah, GA), Leland and Lucien Malyk (Skowhegan, ME) and Mia and Morgan Malyk (Chester Township, NJ).

 Patricia was a graduate of Georgian Court College (undergraduate) and Douglass College (masters) and was employed as an elementary school teacher for many years, both public and private, including Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart and St. Paul School in Princeton.  She was an avid reader, an accomplished quilter and was fond of traveling in her retirement.  Patricia was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and treasured her time spent with family.  She had the gift of gab which included an innate ability to make anyone she was interacting with feel loved and cared for.  Patricia will be deeply missed, but heaven gained an angel.

 Family and friends will be received Friday 4:00pm – 7:30pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ.  The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown; this being the same church where Patricia and Bohdan were married in June 1965.  Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.

There is a special place in heaven and in our hearts for the mother of three boys.  Rest in peace, Mom
