Michael “Micky” Cooper of Milltown, NJ, formerly of Edison passed away on August 24, 2021. His battle with multiple serious medical issues in recent months demonstrated he was a fighter until the end. He was 76 years old and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Born in Plainfield, NJ to John and Dorothy (Driscoll) Cooper, he served proudly in the US Army completing a tour in Thailand and the Philippines. Upon returning home he met the love of his life, Barbara (Zang) whom he charmed with his quick wit and sense of humor for 44 years.
Although a plumber by trade, Micky was a comedian and everyone’s buddy who liked to share his offbeat brand of humor with family, friends, colleagues and strangers. He was passionate about the NY Giants, a good pork roll sandwich and a beer at his beloved American Legion.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer McGough, her husband David, daughter Colleen Oliverio, and his cherished grandsons, Matthew and Michael.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 3-7pm at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown. Memorial contributions to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated. www.bronsonandguthleinfh.com
