John S. Nemetz, Sr.

      John “Jack” S. Nemetz, 94, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at St. Peters hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

      Born is Scranton, PA in 1927, he relocated to Milltown, NJ in 1955 where he resided there for over 66 years.

      Prior to his retirement in 1992, Jack was employed by Advest, Inc in New York City as a senior cashier and assistant Vice President.

      Jack was proceeded by his loving wife Irene of 68 years. His son Mark, his parents Alexander and Clara, sisters Mildred Lopko and Clair Granville. He is survived by his sister, Mary Mahoney, son Jack and wife June of Columbia, SC., son Michael and his wife Carol of Scottsdale, AZ., daughter Paula Lonsdorf and her husband Kevin of Bound Brook, NJ. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kristy and her husband Michael Kalwajtys, Stephen Nemetz, Kevin and Michael Lonsdorf and great grandson, Gabriel.

      Jack served in the Marine Corps during WWII from 1944 to 1947 earning the rank of corporal before being honorably discharged. Jack was also a life member of the John Basilone Detachment of the Marine Corp League. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Milltown, NJ. His love of god and his faith defined the man he was.

      Jack would like to thank the Eucharistic ministers at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. In addition, Jack would also like to thank the volunteers at Interfaith Network of Care, everyone from the Milltown Library and all his wonderful doctors and nurses.

      Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home, 152 N. Main Street, Milltown, NJ. A Funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Milltown, NJ. Following the mass, Jack will be laid to rest at St. Peters cemetery in New Brunswick, NJ.
