Jerry was born on February 24, 1936 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Son of Gerald George Broxmeyer Sr. and Lillian Caroline Schermond, he was one of 8 children. Gerald worked for most of his life at the family owned Ryder’s Lane Farm Market before selling and closing the market in 2003.
In his day, Jerry enjoyed deep sea fishing. His favorite activity of late was spending time at the casinos in Atlantic City. He also took great pride in being a member of the Masonic Lodge #294 of Milltown.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Lillian Broxmeyer, and siblings, Caroline Mayle, Joseph Broxmeyer, Shirley Callaway and Mildred Novak. He was also predeceased by his son Edgar Frank Broxmeyer.
He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor Broxmeyer of 43 years, and children Alice Carbonaro (Jerry), Gerald Broxmeyer III (Sandra), John Broxmeyer (Theresa), Sheri Devlin (Mark), Todd Broxmeyer and Stephen Broxmeyer (Susanna), 13 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, to whom he was lovingly known as Pop-Pop. He is also survived by brother Fred Broxmeyer, and sisters Ruth Fulham and Doris Eib (Maurice).
There will be a visitation at Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. There will be a Masonic Service during this time as well.
