Charles Rucinski of Milltown, NJ passed away on December 4, 2021 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 83 years old. Born in Passaic and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ, Chuck relocated to North Brunswick, NJ after marrying his beloved wife Beverly. The couple finally settled in Milltown where they resided for the past 43 years. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. Following his service, Chuck began a long career in the trucking industry, both behind a desk and as owner-operator primarily for New England Motor Freight. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church of Milltown. Chuck was a former Boy Scout leader and held the position when his sons were young and members of the organization. He was an all-around sportsman with an interest in hunting, fishing, and bowling. Chuck also enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and Europe. Though Chuck was a die-hard fan of the NY Yankees, he was most passionate in his support of his granddaughters at their high school softball games and his grandson’s travel baseball team. During the summer, you could always find a group of kids at the Rucinski house hanging out in the backyard and swimming in the pool. Chuck would be with them, making sure snacks and drinks were available for all.
Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Teresa (née Lotito) Rucinski and son Robert Rucinski; Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Beverly (née Betzler); daughter-in-law Erica Rucinski of Freehold, NJ; sons and daughters-in-law Gregory and Jill Rucinski of White Haven, PA; Chuck and Tracy Rucinski of Milltown, NJ; and Bruce and Lisa Rucinski of Monroe, NJ. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Judy Rucinski of Camas, WA.
The family would like to thank the 5th Floor Surgical ICU team of St. Peter’s University Hospital. This team of front-line heroes was exceptional at managing Chuck’s care and comfort during the last few weeks.
