Anna de Lumeau Obituary

After a full and rich life, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Anna Elizabeth deLumeau née Kiko passed away peacefully on 10/20/21 at St. Peter’s University Hospital at the age of 96 ½ . Born in Germany, Ann lived in Milltown, NJ for the majority of her life and was known as “Omi” by loved ones.  In her younger years, Ann was a self-starter, opening “Ann’s Luncheonette” on Route 1 and relished her role as lead chef for the Rutgers Delta Phi fraternity “boys.” She later served as a caregiver providing comfort to local elderly women in their final years. Over time, these qualities were passed down to her daughter Mary Lou “Lulu” who served as Omi’s primary caregiver, “security blanket” and best friend.  Ann was an active church member at the United Methodist Church in Milltown and enjoyed attending Senior Center Community activities. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Fourth of July parties at Ann’s home were legendary gatherings for extended family and friends. There were never any “left-overs” of Ann’s homemade German “dumpling” soup, plum cake and cucumber salad. The simplest pleasures in life brought Omi the greatest joy, such as spending time lounging on the porch with family and friends playing Mensch ärgere Dich nicht and cards. Ann was known for her gift of gab, regularly chatting with passersby. During the evenings, Ann loved to crochet and donated countless creations to the local Ronald McDonald House serving families with seriously ill children. Ann is predeceased by her loving daughter Marion Primiani and is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Henriquez, two sons Robert (Bobby) and Henry (Hank) deLumeau as well as 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Omi was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all that knew her, but our shared memories will always serve as a blessing.  Visitation will be at Bronson Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, October 25th, 152 N Main Street, Milltown, NJ.  Funeral services will be held at Franklin Memorial Park at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 26th, 1800 NJ-27, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902.  Please join us in celebrating Ann's rich life, post your fondest memories of beloved matriarch to the following sites:
