Richard J. Alfonzo

Richard J. Alfonzo of Milltown, NJ passed away February 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.  He was 75 years old.  Born in NY, NY, Rich was a resident of Milltown for over 17 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army and then during the Vietnam War in the US Navy.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #7250, and a member of American Legion Joyce Kilmer Post #25.  Rich was employed as a Network Administrator by Royal Insurance of NYC for over 30 years.  He was a skilled card player, fisherman, and craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands. He was a family man and deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family.  Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Jane (née Neville), daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Jack Lillis, sons Richard and Michael, sons and daughters-in-law Christopher and Victoria and Patrick and Hania, grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Caitlyn, Charlotte, and his first grandson due in April 2018, brother-in-law Robert Neville, sister-in-law Kathy Neville, and many loving members of his extended family.  Rich’s family will welcome friends Wednesday 4-8pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown.  The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday 10:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, East Brunswick, NJ.
