Peggy Sue (Hanna) Snowden

Peggy Sue Snowden, of Milltown, NJ passed away on December 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 64 years old.  Born in New Brunswick, NJ and raised in South Brunswick, Peggy was a resident of Milltown for over 40 years.  She was employed as a floral designer by Hanna’s Florist as a teenager and became owner of the venerable 65 year old Milltown institution when her dad passed away in 2011.  Peggy was a fighter, courageous in her battle with her latest illness and as a breast cancer survivor.  She was skilled with a sewing needle and made her own outfits throughout high school, and later, scrubs for doctors and nurses as ‘thank you’ gifts post cancer treatments.  Peggy was fond of traveling to the Jersey Shore, particularly Point Pleasant, and especially to the Caribbean, St. John’s was her favorite island.  Her favorite libation was Amaretto DiSaranno.  She was a music lover and fan of Rod Stewart and Kenny Chesney.  She was also a supporter of the American Cancer Society.  Peggy is survived by her loving husband Rennard Snowden, brother Guy Hanna, sons Corey and Brad Applegate, daughter-in-law Kim Applegate, 8 grandchildren Justin, Collin, Ryan, Alexander, Brandon, Dylan, Rylee, and Travis and goddaughter Kristen Sedlatschek.  Family and friends will be received for a memorial service Friday, January 11, 4:30-8:30pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
