Pearl Grossman

Pearl Grossman, a long-time resident of Rossmoor, Monroe NJ, passed away peacefully with her 

loving friends at her side on October 19, 2019.  She was 70 years old and one of the longest 

survivors of a liver transplant (21 years).  Born in New Brunswick, N.J., she lived with her cherished 

dog, Julian, and was the surrogate guardian for her cousin, who lives with challenges faced by living 

on the spectrum of autism. Pearl loved her nephew, niece and god-daughter, whom she helped raise 

and nurture throughout her life.  She was a member of the Chabad Jewish Center of South 

Brunswick.   Pearl served as an active member on the board of directors of Partnerships for People 

for over 10 years.  She was dedicated to the mission of Partnerships for People to serve individuals 

with disabilities through advocacy and community based supports.  Pearl lived her life with humor 

and passion that included an unbridled commitment to her friends (many), family and fighting the 

good fight until the end.  

Predeceased by her parents, Irving Grossman and Irene (née Weiss); and her cousin, Gerald Weiss. 

Pearl is survived by her loving cousin Ira Dechowitz; her brother, Alan Grossman and his fiance 

Christine Ciccone; her niece Heather Pasciak and her husband Andrew; her nephew Jay Grossman 

and his wife Maria; her god-daughter Tina Gross and her husband Jeremy and son Ayden; three 

loving great nephews, Dean, Eli and Nicholas; and numerous devoted friends who benefited from her 

humor and passion for life and who helped her champion her final days – doing it her way.  

Services will begin at 10 am on October 23, 2019 at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home. 

Interment will occur at 10:45 am at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.  As a 20 plus year survivor 

of a liver transplant Pearl has requested that anyone honoring her memory consider liver donation.
