Dennis Bruno Obituary

Dennis R. Bruno Sr. “Big D” of East Brunswick passed away Saturday June 9, 2018 at Haven Hospice, HMH-JFK Medical Center. He was surrounded for days by the love of his family after an aggressive fight with Alzheimer ’s disease. He was 65 years old.

Dennis was an avid animal lover and formerly owned J&K Kennels in East Brunswick for over 20 years with his wife, Nancy. He was a Scale Master at Kinder Morgan for 39 years and only left due to his medical diagnosis. He loved his job and the friends he made there. Over the past year he resided at Bayside Manor in Keansburg where he renewed a love for music and dancing. When Dennis was younger his friends and siblings all considered him the “bad boy” ; he was quick to play a joke, get in trouble and he never backed down from a fight. When he started a family he made a point to be very active in the East Brunswick Marching Band and never missed his children’s sports events. The family always looked forward to their summer day trips to Dorney Park. Later in life, Dennis enjoyed going to music concerts with Racquel and fishing on party boats with Dennis Jr. He loved playing with his grandchildren and made great memories at Rocking Horse Ranch, Disney and Hershey Park.

Dennis was predeceased by the love of his life, and wife of 38 years, Nancy Bruno. He is survived by his daughter Racquel M. Bruno of New Egypt, and son and daughter -in-law Dennis R. Jr & JulieAnne Bruno of Milltown. He had three grandchildren, Molly Fink, Benjamin and Charlotte Bruno. He is also survived by siblings Robert Bruno of East Brunswick, Mark Bruno of South River, Christopher Bruno of North Brunswick and Concetta Pfeil of East Brunswick.

A Funeral Mass will be offered 9:30am Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at St. Bartholomew Church in East Brunswick. Final disposition private.
