Brian C Reitsma

Brian Cantore Reitsma of Milltown, NJ passed away at home on Friday, June 14, 2019 . He was born on May 9,1980 in New Brunswick, NJ. Brian attended Bishop Ahr High School in Edison, NJ. He worked numerous security positions at night clubs throughout New Jersey. He then found his true passion helping others when working at Serenity Springs Rehab Center in Florida and San Diego managing their books and insurance. After this he managed a pizzeria in Orange, New Jersey, and was set to begin a new position in the drug rehabilitation field at Map Recovery Support Services.

Brian loved spending time with his precious Family. There was always a special place in Brian’s heart for his Nonni and Poppy Cantore whom he shared many happy times with- especially summers at their Jersey shore house in Seaside Heights. Brian had a special affection for the family dogs, Amstel, Bella, Hudson and his dog Vito. Brian loved to eat and sample different cuisines - but especially enjoyed Italian food. He also liked to lift weights, tan at the beach, listen to country music, read, enjoy TV and movies, and watch sports especially his beloved Yankees baseball, Miami football, and North Carolina basketball. He was known for being extremely loyal, having a hearty laugh and huge heart.

Brian is predeceased by his Admired father Larry Reitsma. He is survived by his Loving mother Kathleen Cantore Reitsma of Milltown, his beloved siblings, brother Jason Reitsma and his fiancé Lauren Mellusi of North Bergen, and sister Daniele Reitsma of Milltown, devoted Godmother Donna Cantore,  cherished Uncle Phil and wife Barb Cantore , Uncle Nick and wife Terri Cantore, dear cousins Alexis, Nicole, and Joseph Cantore all from south Florida , and Aunt Patti Elliot and cousin Paul Elliot of Somerset NJ.

 

Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown.

Friends and family may visit on Friday from 5-8 pm.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, East Brunswick.

Internment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, New Brunswick.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Brian to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
