David “Dave” Wilt, 86, of North Brunswick, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Tuesday, March 19, 2024 with his wife Esther and son Richard at his side. He was born in Windber, PA and moved to North Brunswick, NJ as a young adult where he lived for over 6 decades. He graduated from Windber High School in 1955 and then spent six years in the National Guard. He had several jobs in New Jersey before ending up at the United States Postal Service first as a letter Carrier and retiring after 38 years of service as Supervisor of Mails from the Kilmer Campus in Piscataway, NJ.
He enjoyed outdoor activities including; hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family in the Poconos. In his retirement he loved traveling the east coast with his wife and other family members.
Predeceased by his son Donald "Donnie" Wilt in 2016, Dave leaves behind his wife Esther Wilt (Kankula) and son Richard “Richie” Wilt both of North Brunswick, NJ; his Grandson David Wilt and his wife Chelsea and their son Jameson (Dave’s great-grandson) of Bethlehem, PA. As well as numerous other loving relatives, neighbors and friends here in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado and other locations throughout the country.
The family will welcome friends on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ. Funeral services Saturday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by interment at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
